Income Tax Return is the document in which the assesse files information about his Income and Tax Liability to the Income Tax Department.

Any Person whose income exceeds the basic exemption limit as specified in the Income Tax Act, 1961 is required to file the Income Tax Return. The basic exemption limit is subject to change from year to year.

Every Person is liable to pay income tax if his total income is more than the income notified by the government in the slab rates.
